KABOOM! Design Day with Garnet Hathaway

Washington Capitals player Garnet Hathaway visited the Bladensburg Community Center on July 21 to participate in a playground design session with children from the surrounding community.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the charitable arm of the Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics and Washington Wizards, is partnering with KABOOM! and the M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County to fund a new playground to be built at Bladensburg Community Center in September.

Hathaway and the children drew their dream playgrounds during Design Day. Elements from the drawings will be incorporated into the final design for the new community playground, which will help address a lack of access to quality playspaces in the community.

The playground will be the seventh built with involvement by Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and its teams.
